Hi Butterflies, ok, so this project that you are about to listen to, thank you, but I am sorry that this is a project and era I have no intention or want to revisit any of the songs written/recorded for this project. They are too hard and painful (which I will further explain why). I'm a creative who bares my soul in my art, and to relive these moments is too much for me at this point in my life. But I owe you all an explanation for why it took so long for me to release any music, and I want to be honest, vulnerable, and respectful. Just know these songs were not complete or final in any way or form, these were all done in their random separate sessions and only touched once, which is what you hear, but now for the back story.
So I wrote this project between 2020-2021 and recorded the last song top of 2022. Actually, when I was doing those Neptune Vlogs, I was writing this project. I titled it "Sapphire" because our favorite color was Blue, and they had bought me a Sapphire blue jewelry set. The project was supposed to be (16 tracks) of this New Age Neo-Soul Bedroom Pop Alternative Jazz R&B blend (inspired and influenced by Maxwell, Floetry, Alina Baraz, and Frank Ocean. It was supposed to tell our story from my perspective falling in love publically and on a song with someone who we had rough beginnings dating back to 2017 with them coming back and wanting to prove they were a changed person (certain songs were about them on Anaomi and Neptune) and was in a poly relationship but I sought to tell what I felt at the time was our beautiful love story which looking back on it certain songs were red flags.
I also included 2 songs left off of Neptune that didn't make the final cut because they had samples that were not cleared, but they didn't fit anymore.
Whew... So the storyline of my life musical project-wise goes IMNB-Anaomi-Neptune-Sapphire-IMNB2, and in IMNB2, I will talk about getting out of that relationship, dating again, and healing, so stay tuned.
Also, my engineer and I were going through a lot in our personal lives and started to pull away from each other We actually took space from each other for a while and came back together in 2023 to start wrapping up Neptune and start recording IMNB 2.
During that time I was dealing with having to get surgery and healing, losing and picking up jobs, and coping with loss and death on top of my friendships and relationship ending as I stepped into turning 30 so this album is tied to so much of that time but I hope you like it and who knows I may tap into that sound in future projects but better and of course, you can listen to the music to hear details but for this era and a visual vibe watch my Sapphire IG story. Thank you all again, I love you and see you all at the next release!
